DAY 1
ARRIVAL AT TANGIER
Welcome to Morocco!
This Moroccan journey begins in Tangier, a city perched between continents, where Atlantic meets Mediterranean and Africa greets Europe. Upon arrival, our local guide will welcome you with a warm “As-salāmu ʿalaykum” and accompany you to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, you may choose to rest or head out for a gentle introduction to the city. Explore Tangier’s historic centre, where traces of the Spanish protectorate still shape the skyline, from the fading elegance of the Cervantes Theatre to the silent presence of the old bullring. Wander through the medina, a quiet maze of whitewashed walls, blue doors and winding alleyways, where everyday life moves to a rhythm that hasn’t changed in generations.

DAY 2
TANGIER TO CHEFCHAOUEN
Discover the first Moroccan city!
After breakfast, we leave the coast behind and head inland, crossing the lush slopes of the Rif Mountains on our way to Chefchaouen. Tucked into the hills like a secret, this peaceful town is unlike any other in Morocco. As we arrive, the first thing you’ll notice is the colour, a sea of soft blues washing over the walls, doors, and stairways. It’s as if the entire town has been dipped in indigo. But beyond the beauty, Chaouen holds stories. For centuries, it was home to a large Sephardic Jewish community, who preserved their traditions and their language within these walls. The afternoon is yours to wander.

DAY 3
CHEFCHAOUEN TO FEZ
Meknes, a UNESCO Heritage Site.
Today, we leave the blue alleys of Chefchaouen behind and travel south toward Fez, visiting two remarkable places that offer a glimpse into Morocco’s layered past along the way. Our first stop is Meknes, one of the four imperial cities of Morocco and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Built in the 17th century under Sultan Moulay Ismaïl, Meknes blends Islamic architecture with European influence, reflecting a time when Morocco was asserting itself as a powerful kingdom. Walk through monumental gates, past old stables and granaries, and imagine the grandeur of a city once envisioned as the “Versailles of Morocco.” A short drive from there brings us to Volubilis, Morocco’s best-preserved Roman site. Scattered across a quiet hillside, its mosaics, columns, and triumphal arches tell stories of an ancient Roman outpost. It’s a place where history feels incredibly alive under your feet. By late afternoon, we arrive in Fez, one of the most culturally rich and vibrant cities in North Africa. The rest of the day is free to relax or begin exploring this ancient capital at your own pace.

DAY 4
FEZ
Through the first city of the Moroccan kingdom.
Today, we step into Fez el-Bali, the oldest part of the city and the spiritual heart of Morocco. Founded in the 9th century by Idris II, Fez is considered the birthplace of Moroccan identity. Recognised by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, the old medina is a living labyrinth, where the scent of cedar, spices, and leather fills the air, and every neighbourhood holds a different craft passed down through generations. In the Souk El Attarine, craftsmen work much as they have for centuries. Ders stirring vats of vibrant wool, tanners softening skins under the sun, potters shaping cobalt blue ceramics, and artisans binding books with finely inlaid leather. Each guild has its own corner, its own tools, its own unbroken lineage. There’s no fixed path today! The medina invites you to get a little lost, to follow your senses, and to witness a city that still moves to the rhythm of its ancestors. This is Fez, alive.

DAY 5
FEZ TO IMILCHIL
Behind the Moroccan secrets!
Today, we leave the city behind and journey into the Middle Atlas, where the road winds through forests, mountains, and hidden villages, revealing a different side of Morocco, much quieter, older, and deeply rooted in Berber tradition. Our first stop is Ifrane, often called the “Switzerland of Morocco” for its alpine-style chalets, tidy streets, and peaceful lake. In winter, its snowy slopes even welcome skiers, a surprising scene in North Africa. From here, the landscape shifts again as we climb through cedar forests, home to wild monkeys who often wander close, hoping for a snack. We’ll take time for a walk among these towering trees before arriving in Imilchil, a remote village in the High Atlas. This village in the High Atlas is famous for Isli and Tislit, the lakes of the bride and groom. Each year, this quiet place comes alive with the Berber Wedding Festival, where families gather for music, dancing, and the blessing of new unions, echoing customs that have endured for centuries. Tonight, we stay in a simple accommodation, where warmth comes not from luxury, but from the fire, the food, and the stories shared over dinner.

DAY 6
IMILCHIL TO TINGHIR
Admiring the impressive Gorges of Todra.
After breakfast, we leave Imilchil behind and continue our journey through the highlands of the Atlas. Early on, we make a brief stop at a dramatic mountain pass, reaching 2,645 meters above sea level, a viewpoint that opens to sweeping landscapes of rocky peaks and remote valleys. From here, the road winds downward toward one of Morocco’s most striking natural wonders: the Todra Gorges. These towering granite cliffs, some rising over 300 meters, create a narrow canyon that feels both monumental and intimate. We’ll take time for a short walk through the gorge, where light dances off the rock walls and the sound of water echoes softly between them. We will leave the Gorges through the palm grove of Tinghir and its mud villages, and we can step inside and enjoy the freshness. By evening, we arrive at our hotel in Tinghir. It’s time to rest, enjoy a hearty dinner, and take in the stillness of the southern night.

DAY 7
TINGHIR TO MERZOUGA
Camel tracks and a night under the stars!
Today, we travel toward Merzouga, passing through Erfoud, often called the gateway to the Sahara, where palm groves give way to dunes and the air feels heavier with sand and sun. Along the way, we make a stop at the khettaras, ancient underground canals built to transport water across the arid land. Dug by hand centuries ago, these brilliant systems once sustained entire communities. Though many now lie dry, they remain a powerful reminder of human ingenuity in the harshest of environments. By afternoon, we reach the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes, where vast, golden waves of sand rise and fall like the sea. Here, we leave the road behind and mount camels, riding slowly through the dunes toward our desert camp. It’s a timeless scene: the rhythm of hooves on sand, the sun lowering on the horizon, the silence thick and alive. Once we arrive, we’ll enjoy a traditional dinner and spend the night under the stars, surrounded by the peace and beauty of the desert.

DAY 8
MERZOUGA TO DADES
A wonderful sunrise!
We rise early to witness one of the Sahara’s most magical moments, the sunrise over the dunes. As the first light spills across the sands, the landscape shifts from deep shadow to golden glow. It’s a quiet, unforgettable farewell to the desert. After breakfast at camp, we return to Merzouga by 4×4, crossing the dunes with a new perspective on the vastness we slept within. Before leaving the region, we stop at a family-run fossil workshop, where prehistoric life is embedded in stone. Here, trilobites, ammonites, starfish, and other marine fossils remind us that this desert was once the ocean floor. As we continue our journey west, the terrain shifts once again. We arrive in the Dades Valley, known for its dramatic gorges carved by the Dades River. Towering cliffs, kasbahs perched on hillsides, and a winding road that curls like a ribbon through the rock all set the stage for one of Morocco’s most surreal natural formations: the Monkey Fingers. Also called the Cliffs of Tamlalt, these eroded sandstone towers rise like giant fingers from the earth, a playground of geological wonder. We’ll enjoy a short hike through the canyon, with time to explore the nearby Berber village.

DAY 9
DADES TO MARRAKESH
From Aït Benhaddou to the magic of Marrakesh
Today, we cross the desert plateaus and the winding mountain passes that connect the south to the imperial city of Marrakesh. But before reaching the city, we stop for one last immersion in history and wonder. Rising from the red earth like a mirage, Aït Benhaddou is one of the most iconic sights in Morocco, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a perfectly preserved ksar (fortified village) made entirely of adobe. Beyond its cinematic fame in films like Gladiator and Game of Thrones, Aït Benhaddou holds the memory of centuries of caravan traders who once crossed its gates. Here, we’ll take a two-hour walk through its alleys and towers, discovering its layered past and breathtaking views of the Ounila Valley. In the afternoon, the road leads us into the olive groves and ochre buildings of Marrakesh. Once we arrive, there’s time to rest or to dive straight into the city’s vibrant rhythm. In the evening, follow the call of drums and smoke to the legendary Djemaa el Fna square, where acrobats, dancers, storytellers, and snake charmers gather as they have for centuries. This open-air theatre, itself recognised by UNESCO for its cultural significance, is Marrakesh in its purest form: chaotic, hypnotic, and utterly alive.
